Like many developers, I am always in search of new open source applications that are worthy of adoption.

There are many factors that I consider in the research process but the real evaluation is found during a test drive on my local server. If this tire-kicking proves positive, then I tend to install the application on one of my undeveloped domains. If I am really impressed with the app, I may jump in with both feet and roll it out on a active touch-point site.

Such is the case here, today — our new publishing platform is Textpattern. I must say that early bench-testing really blew my doors off! Another post will follow with my applause.
